Hello, I’m Ashley! I support individuals who are navigating a variety of life stressors and overcoming the impacts of traumatic life events. My role as a therapist is focused on incorporating both the mind and body in the healing process to help create freedom from the effects of anxiety, depression, and the overwhelm that can accompany everyday living. Through this, I frequently have the privilege of watching as people rediscover who they are, how they can be with both the joys and challenges of life, and most importantly, find peace and acceptance within every part of themselves.
How I work.
My approach to counseling is to meet you exactly where you are. For some, this means diving into deep wounds right away, while for others it involves gently easing into the process. In our therapeutic work together, I emphasize the cultivation of internal resources and body-based awareness to help you better understand and navigate your emotional and physiological responses.
I aim to offer a space where anything and everything is welcome to be explored—supporting you in developing the skills needed to move through life’s challenges with greater ease, deepen your connection to yourself, and step into a way of being that feels aligned with who you truly are.
Above all, my hope is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered.
Who I help.
I work with individuals ages 10 and up who are navigating a wide range of experiences, including life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, and complex trauma. I recognize that each person’s story is unique and deserves to be met with curiosity, compassion, and deep respect for the intuitive healing we all carry.
Whether you’re an adult, teenager, or pre-teen, you have an inner sense of when you’re ready to process life’s difficult moments. My role is to create a therapeutic space where you feel a sense of choice and safety—allowing you to shape what our connection looks and feels like as we move through the healing process together.
Why I do this work.
I chose to enter the mental health field because I have always been someone who feels deeply and has experienced both the beauty and the challenges that come with that. It is both my belief and my experience that we heal when we are seen, heard, and held within safe, connected relationships. So, when the opportunity was presented to provide for others, what I have found transformative, I simply could not deny the calling. To be a part of someone’s story and a space where they find the courage and capacity to explore their inner world, reconnect with the most vulnerable parts of themselves, and discover the healing that is possible, is a place that I am often amazed by and reminded of my “why” in doing this work.
A bit about me.
When I’m not supporting others in their healing, I love spending time with my goldendoodle, Presley, and exploring all the wonderful parts of our city—farmers’ markets, coffee shops, and antique stores are some of my favorites. Just as I encourage those I work with to stay connected to their creativity, I practice this in my own life as well. For me, that looks like connecting with nature through walks, road trips, and, of course, collecting far too many plants.
The boring stuff.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University. During my graduate training, I had the privilege of working with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, which deepened my commitment to trauma-informed care. Through this work, I received specialized training in the application of Polyvagal Theory and Relationally Focused Treatment. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which I use as a supportive modality in the trauma healing process.
