Joanne Takenaka, M.Ed.
Joanne Takenaka is a Licensed Psychological Associate. Originally from Canada, Joanne received her Master of Education degree in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary. The program provided extensive clinical experience that developed a solid foundation in psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation.
After obtaining her degree, Joanne worked as a Provisional Psychologist providing services and support to preschool-aged children, their families and teachers through intensive in-school and in-home programs. She continued her work as a Provisional Psychologist at the Canadian International School of Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. In this role, Joanne worked with children and teens doing psychological and academic assessments and implemented evidence-based interventions to provide support. Following these experiences, Joanne became a Licensed Psychologist in Alberta, Canada.
Currently, as an assessment specialist, Joanne works with children and teens as well as their parents to provide evidence-based evaluations that address a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, behavioural challenges and learning difficulties.
