Ashley Burks holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University. She has experience working across diverse clinical settings, including non-profit organizations, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and private practice. These experiences have shaped her deep commitment to trauma-informed care.
Ashley works with individuals ages 10 and up who are navigating a wide range of life experiences, including life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, and complex trauma. She understands that each person’s story is unique and meets her clients with curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for the intuitive healing they carry. Her clinical approach is rooted in neuroscience and integrates Polyvagal Theory, Relationally Focused Treatment, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support regulation of the nervous system and promote healing of both mind and body.
She believes that healing happens in safe, supportive relationships and strives to create an environment where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. In her work, she emphasizes the importance of building internal resources and body-based awareness to help clients better understand and navigate their emotional and physiological responses. Her hope is to offer a space where anything and everything is welcome to be explored. Ultimately, supporting clients in building the skills necessary to meet life’s challenges with greater ease, deepen their connection to themselves, and create the opportunity to move through the world in a way that feels in alignment with who they are.
